The OAU-ICT driven Knowledge Park (OAK-Park), Africa Centre of Excellence (ACE), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in conjunction with the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and the Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria) (CPN) is organising a one-day academia-industry engagement in Lagos.
The ACE OAU-park is a world Bank sponsored regional hub for training in software engineering located in the beauty campus of the Obafemi Awolowo, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
The discourse which holds tomorrow, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, the ACE Co-Centre Leader & President, Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Professor Adesola Aderounmu, said, is the first in the series of rapprochement aimed at redefining University-industry relationships.
“It seeks to bridge the existing disconnect between the critical actors in knowledge economy. We hope that through this interface, the Centre will be able to showcase some of the possibilities and potentials within the Centre and explore ways which the industry can leverage on in a mutually benefitting relationships”, he said.
The discussions, according to information at the disposal of TechEconomy.ng, will dwell on the theme: Rethinking Academia-Industry Engagement.
“In near term, we anticipate joint University-industry projects, research contacts, industry training/internship, bi-directional visits and guest lectures”, Prof. Aderounmu said.
