As part of its commitment to lead Africa’s entrepreneurial scene, expose upcoming entrepreneurs to resources, innovation, and insights that could facilitate their success while playing our role in achieving some of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Smepeaks team is taking a nudge higher by launching Africa’s very first platform to share and learn from failure stories of African entrepreneurs — MessedUp!

Smepeaks has themed the maiden edition of the Messed Up! Conference as: “Milking timeless lessons from Founders’ Failures”.

The conference will feature various founders who failed at one point or the other, and they will be sharing their experiences with everyone present at the event. The goal is for all to leverage past pains to build future gains.

“Young as we are, we have realised that facing our most dreaded mistakes head-on and talking about our painful messes is the best way we can grow, build, and most especially, avoid repeating disastrous cycles of failure and frustration in our journey to liberating the nation’s struggling economy and creating the Africa of our dream.

MessedUp! is a revolution, and we are glad to be the prime mover of such in Africa. We may have been bitten by the wasp of failure, but we choose not to be paralyzed by its venom,” said the Team Lead, Smepeaks, Grace Akinosun.

The Conference deliberations will be on the following themes/sections:

  • Failing forward, a myth or a reality?
  • Failure, as an essential ingredient for long lasting Success
  • Panellists of Founders sharing their failure experiences
  • Hit session (Ask me anything on investment, startup, product development, funding, etc).
  • Product/business showcase and networking
