All is set for 5th RECALP Summit as speakers are rolled out

The city of Lagos is set for another millennial convergence and empowerment as the much-anticipated RECALP 2019 Summit will hold on June 12, 2019 at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lagos Province 19 auditorium in Ogudu, Lagos.

The event, organised by the Young Adults and Youth Affairs of the RCCG Lagos Province 19, is reputed to be the biggest convergence of millenials in Nigeria.

The Summit which is scheduled to hold on June 12, 2019 at the Redeemed Christian Church of God Lagos Province 19 Auditorium in Ogudu, will serve as a platform to equip the new generation leaders and stimulate attendees, mostly young people to align with plausible steps to attain their life goals on issues of relationship, entrepreneurship, career, leadership and politics, as well as empower emerging entrepreneurs.

According to the convener, Femi Aminu, this year’s edition is a greater convergence of the millennial who will be nurtured and guided to greater achievements.  Some of the speakers expected to speak at the 2019 edition of RECALP are the President/CEO of the Business School Netherlands, Nigeria, Mr. Lere Baale, The founding pastor/ president, The Flourishing Family Int., Bible Church/ Women after Revival Ministry, Rith Essien, Lead Pastor at The Elevation Church, Godman Akinlabi, Seasoned Career Success Catalyst, motivational speaker, and CEO, Inspiro Consulting and Dayo Israel, a renowned polymath; an Advisor to Governments, International Development Specialist, International Speaker and Preacher.

Commenting on the programme, the Chief Host, Pastor Bisi Olowoyo, Pastor In-charge of Lagos Province 19, over the years, RECALP Summit has recorded tremendous progress and growth in geometric proportions.

Olowoyo said that as part of the strategy to /deepen reach of the event, RECALP 2019 will be telecast live on Youtube and RaveTV. The programme will also be streamed live on the onlinetv KairoswebTV.

It will be recalled that the RECALP Summit commenced in 2014. This is will be the fifth edition of the annual youth summit.

The chairman of the RECAL 2019, Celestine Achi, said: RECALP 2019 Summit offers great opportunity through empowerment, networking and exhibition for emerging and aspiring entrepreneurs, an improvement and deeper inclusion from the 4th edition which raised the bar.

UK body, Greenfield Law partner FG to host technical conference on Right of Way

The UK Prosperity Fund’s Digital Access Programme and Greenfields Law, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) are set to host a National Technical Conference on Right of Way and Site Build Permitting.

The Technical Conference is part of the UK Government’s Technical Assistance package in advancing policy and regulatory reforms on Right of Way (RoW) with the aim of promoting inclusive and sustainable digital access in the country.

At the virtual conference which is scheduled to hold on August 13th, 2020, the findings and recommendations from a technical study on Effective Right of Way (RoW) Administration and Issuance of Planning Permits for Masts and Towers for instituting reforms by state governments and other agencies of government which was commissioned under the UK Government Prosperity Fund’s Digital Access Programme and undertaken by Greenfields Law, will be presented to stakeholders.

The Honorable minister of communications and digital economy, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, state governors and chief executive officers of telecommunications companies are among the stakeholders expected to participate at the technical conference.

According to the Managing Counsel of Greenfields Law and a leading telecommunications policy, law and regulation practitioner, Osondu Nwokoro, “the study consulted widely, obtained and processed information from virtually all segments of the telecommunications industry including service providers, policy advocacy groups,  consumer associations, relevant agencies and officials of state governments across the six geo-political zones while also noting best practices around right of way and site build permitting in other countries.”

From this process, Nwokoro said, the study developed  pragmatic policy, legal and regulatory right of way and site build processes which will be recommended  at the conference for  adoption at all levels of government, to address the long-standing problems around right of way and site build permitting in Nigeria, thereby facilitating digital access and consequently the attainment of the targets of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, 2019 as well as the National Broadband Plan, 2020-2025.

Nigeria Computer Society ready for (virtual) 11th International Conference – Prof. Sodiya

The National Executive Council (NEC), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), working with the Conferences Committee, today announced the readiness to host the eleventh (11th) International Conference.

NCS is dubbed the biggest and premier professional association in Nigeria’s tech sector. It is the umbrella body of all IT professionals, interest groups and stakeholders in Nigeria.  

With about 15,000 members, spread across all the states of the federation, NCS remains the only national IT society with highly-skilful and dependable domain experts in various fields of Information Technology.

Speaking during a virtual press briefing about the upcoming NCS International conference, the President, Professor Adesina Sodiya, a fellow of NCS, said that with major interest groups including; ISPON, ITAN, NiWIIT, ITSSP, AITP, NITPCS and structural organs; College of Fellows, Chapters, NACOSS, the Association remains committed to promoting and leapfrogging IT development in Nigeria.

He described the International Conference is the biggest and most influential IT event in Nigeria.

NCS International Conference year 2020

He announced that the Conference will hold from Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th of August 2020 virtually, with the theme “Emerging Applications and Technologies for Industry 4.0 (EATI 2020)”.

“In the last forty-two years of NCS existence, our conference venue has been rotated amongst the six geopolitical zones in the Country. Even the 2020 conference was initially scheduled to hold in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State before the pandemic. Interestingly, this is the first time NCS will be holding virtual Conference in the history of this society.

“The challenge posed by COVID-19 reaffirms the need for Information Technology Professionals to change their strategies.  Infact, Covid-19 has introduced a new normal paradigm shift which the whole is currently battling with.

“The theme of the conference was carefully and scientifically chosen in order to provide the needed technological supports for industries in this modern society. Industry 4.0 or the Fourth Industrial revolution is simply about smart manufacturing.
