Google Business Group Enugu to launch ‘Women Will’ initiative

Google Business Group Enugu is set to launch ‘Women Will’ event under the theme “Breaking the barriers holding female entrepreneurship”.

The event scheduled for tomorrow, on 20th July, is​​ meant to empower women and holds at Dreams Hub, No 85 Ogui Road Enugu by 10.am, TechEconomy.ng can report.

Topics to be discussed at the event include:

  1. Challenges of female entrepreneurs
  2. Making Business event and workplace more female friendly
  3. Opportunities for female entrepreneurs
  4. Best practices for managing the home and business

According to Mr. Chuks Edoga, one of the Conveners of the event, ‘Women Will’ is a Google initiative that focuses on digital programs for economic empowerment for women across the world.

“Women with access to economic opportunity disproportionately benefit their families, their communities, their countries.

“Whether via research, access or leadership, ‘Women Will’ addresses the gaps in information and empowerment to help where women are being excluded,” he said.

He reiterated that ‘Women Will’ initiative focuses on digital literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership, work place, etc.

Mr. Edoga continues: Women Will training is done in partnership with Google Business Groups (GBGs). GBGs are independent, community-led groups formed by business owners to share knowledge about web technologies for local business success. In June this year, GBG Enugu was launched and women will is following up”.

Speakers lined up for the event include CEO FIT Consult, Chief Loretta Aniagolu, who will be speaking on “Opportunities for female entrepreneurs”.

Other speakers include Managing Consultant CRTS Ltd, Nonye Umahi; Anwuli Anyachebelu of Radio Nigeria Enugu; Chioma Chukwuma Agu of Lifecon Agencies Enugu; CEO, Gosip Hair and Cosmetics, Barr. Obianuju Okechukwu; CEO, PlayJoor, Nkemdirim Arukwe and Digital Marketing Consultant, Ebuka Igboekwe.
