VDT Communications at a colourful event on Tuesday launched the much anticipated 4G LTE Advanced.
With the launch, VDT is targeting the retail segment of the Nigerian telecommunications sector.
Interestingly, the 4G LTE Advanced service, the Company said, offers internet speed of up to 300Mb/s (megabyte per second).
Speaking at the ceremony held at the West Africa’s commercial city, Lagos, with eminent Nigerians in attendance, the Managing Director, Mr. Biodun Omoniyi said that the 4G LTE service is a testament to the company’s resilience, determination and customer-centric approach to business.
He said that the journey started five years ago when VDT secured it license from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and currently provides broadband services to 90% of commercial banks in Nigeria including the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Thus, VDT Communications, he said, is known for the provision of premium quality services to enterprise customers.
Now, with the 4G LTE launched under the theme: ”Live the life” VDT even wants more Nigerians, under the retail segment, to enjoy ubiquitous broadband services.
The retail broadband service space, he said, would witness the same premium quality service for homes and individual subscribers in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, a normal 4G LTE, TechEconomy.ng learnt offers 100Mb/s internet speeds while the VDT 4G LTE Advanced offers browsing experience of up to 300Mb/s.
The MD/CEO added that unlike what is obtainable elsewhere, VDT 4G LTE is unique as it is built from the scratch as 4th generation high speed internet and it is not an upgrade from 2G to 3G to 4G, adding that this promises a whole new internet experience to millions of Nigerian users.
According to him, the opportunity to actualize this dream came with the successful acquisition of a broad channel 2.3GHz Spectrum 5 years ago from the Federal Government through Bitflux Communications Limited; a consortium which VDT is the principal partner.
VDT LTE is leveraging on the Bitflux network it painstakingly and deliberately built from the scratch to provide premium quality 46 broadband experience in the country.
Despite the existence of other players in the market, Omoniyi said the decision to launch VDT 4G LTE service is owing to the gaps existing in the market due to poor quality networks, customer service and support service inherent in the market.
VDT 4G LTE Advanced, he said, has come to fill these yawning gaps with superior network quality, top-notch network performance and proactive customer and support services.
“Our ultimate goal is to offer members of the public an exceptional broadband experience every time they use our network. Thus, enhancing all aspects of their lives qualitatively and quantitatively; helping them to achieve more and truly live the life they are meant to.”
The company also said, following Lagos launch it will expand to other cities and up to 18 states by the year 2020 by taking advantage of its various offices in 30 States of the country.
VDT products range includes home CPE and mobile mifi devices at highly attractive rates.
“These we offer with free 3068 of data. We also offer the most attractive free night browsing [8pm to 7am] plan available in the industry. Furthermore, we still offer a free power bank [depending on the home CPE purchased]. Our data plans also come in highly affordable rates; as low as N3,500 and unlimited internet data plan at low prices”, the Company said.
With about 80% network coverage of Lagos State, VDT LTE would expand strategically to cover the entire Lagos State, and other leading cities in the key economic zones of Nigeria and the rest of the country in phases.
VDT ltd also leverages on the huge capacity, world-class quality standard and customer centric disposition of the VDT service organization.
