The African Network Information Centre (AFRINIC) – the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for Africa is searching for a candidate to take over the office which Alan Barrett left in July as the Chief Executive Officer.

AFRINIC is responsible for the distribution and management of Internet number resources – IP address space (IPv4 and IPv6) and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) – in its service region, which includes Africa and the Indian Ocean region.

The Body is looking for the next CEO – Chief Executive Officer. This position is based in Mauritius.

CEO’s Missions

According to the advert on LinkedIn, the CEO must be well versed in all Internet governance matters. S/He must understand the issues and the players in the Internet ecosystem.

S/He should have demonstrated experience in the Internet community, information and communication technologies (ICT) and business management.

S/He must demonstrate exposure and experience in Regional Internet Registry matters, associated policy development processes and regulatory aspects.
