Building on the fact that Nigeria, Turkey bilateral trade volume stands above $489,73 Million US Dollars, the Minister of Communications, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami led a high powered delegation to hold bilateral discussion with representatives from the Turkish Government.
TechEconomy.ng learnt that Dr. Pantami led the Nigerian delegation to discuss five key ICT issues; they are:
- Capacity Development (Scholarship for Nigerian Students);
- National Information Security System Platform for SIM and Mobile registration using digital identity;
- e-Government development and
- Broadband penetration.
The gathering, our correspondent learnt, held at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Ankara, Turkey, in attendance was, the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mehmet Cahit Turhan; Nigeria Ambassador to Turkey H.E Iliyasu Audu Paragalda; Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, representative of Oracle, among others.
At the end of discussions, a technical joint committee was set up.
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also extended his regards to his Nigerian counterpart, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari.
