Mara Phones has announced the donation of 10,000 masks to the Government of Nigeria.

The brand is putting into practise the simple idea that every single person can do something good to improve the lives of others and positively change the world.

As the world is faced with the unprecedented impact of Covid-19, Mara Phones, an African company, said they stand with the continent of Africa to help limit the spread of the virus and ease the economic impact and hardships faced by Governments within the countries they operate in.

“At Mara Phones, we recognise that as a proudly African brand, it is our mission to contribute to saving and improving lives.  We are committed to getting much-needed resources to those who need it the most, the healthcare workers and frontline responders”, a statement by the Company made available to reads.

Announced at the 2019 Africa Investment Forum (AIF), Mara Phones is in the process of building a brand-new state-of-the-art factory in Nigeria that will manufacture high-quality and affordable smartphones.

This $100 million (one hundred million US dollars) project will generate over 2,000 direct and high-skilled jobs and contribute to the transfer of technology and high-tech skills in Nigeria while aiding in the creation and sustenance of a large ecosystem of high-tech companies.

This will be the third smartphone-manufacturing factory opened by Mara Phones in Africa, following the successful launch of the factories in Rwanda and South Africa in October 2019.

“We extend our deepest appreciation to the many healthcare workers in Nigeria who are doing so much to help those affected and infected by this pandemic. As we embark on establishing our Nigerian operations, it is imperative that we form part of the solutions to eradicate and curb the spread of the virus”, said the Director of Mara Phones, Mamadou Kolade.  “These protective supplies are part of Mara Phones overall initiative to protect healthcare workers and subsequently support authorities in combating this pandemic”.
