FinTrak Software’s CEO, Bimbo Abioye, crowned NITMA 2020 IT Personality of the Year

The Chief Executive Officer of FinTrak Software, Bimbo Abioye, has been crowned Information Technology (IT) Personality of the Year 2020, at the National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA), organized by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).

Abioye was announced winner of the keenly contested award with the Managing Director of Rack Centre, Dr. Ayotunde Coker emerging the runner-up.

The Chief Executive Officer of eTranzact International PLC., Niyi Toluwalope was also nominated for the award.

Speaking during the hybrid event on Thursday, November 26, 2020, the President of NCS, Professor Adesina Sodiya, said that annually the Nigeria Computer Society recognizes, celebrates and rewards outstanding excellence and exceptional contributions in the Information Technology field through the unique national platform NITMA provides.

“Our focus as a society is progress for the sector in particular and for the nation as a whole. As the acknowledged professional authority facilitating the development of an inclusive, globally competitive, prosperous and knowledge-based digital economy in Nigeria, NCS is committed to recognizing and rewarding outstanding hard work and excellence in accelerating IT development”.

He congratulated Abioye for his contributions to the development of indigenous software solutions in the country.

Abioye holds an MBA in information technology from Olabisi Onabanjo University and a certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

He worked at ADH as an internal auditor for two years and later as head of finance and systems at the same company.

He later moved to Reliance Bank, where he worked as a group head for financial control and ICT services and Acting General Manager of Operations and Technology. He has been the Group Managing Director at FinTrak Software since 2006.

Receiving the award, the FinTrak boss thanked the National Executive Council of NCS for creating the platform to honour and appreciate creativity and innovation in the industry.
