A new book series titled “The Nigerian Entrepreneurs’ Handbook” was unveiled virtually to the general public on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
The book Series will provide entrepreneurs with practical resources required to compete favourably in the Nigerian business climate, FATE Foundation, has said.
Published by A’Lime Media Limited, the handbook series is part of several programmes to commemorate 2 decades of FATE.
Over the years, FATE Foundation has launched targeted initiatives geared towards revitalising the Nigerian entrepreneurial space and equipping entrepreneurs with knowledge, skills, and network to survive and thrive. 20 years in, the Foundation has built an institutional legacy of enterprise development that has and continues to have a significant socio-economic impact for Nigerian entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurship ecosystem at large.
To celebrate and commemorate this milestone, FATE is presenting a series of high-level virtual programmes spanning five days from December 2020 beginning with the launch of the FATE Foundation story documentary, and then the ecosystem policy dialogue and design workshop, as well as the signature Annual Celebration programme to graduate entrepreneurs enrolled in the year and award prizes to deserving volunteers and entrepreneurs.
The foundation will also launch FATE Insights, a multi-part documentary series on major industries of the Nigerian economy featuring alumni and ex-faculty members of the foundation that deep dive into the sectors, highlights challenges and opportunities using the successes and pitfalls of key stakeholders and leading brands and draw insightful pointers and learnings for current and future entrepreneurs with keen interests.
Alongside these programmes, FATE will also launch a 7-part entrepreneurship handbook series that cuts across seven key areas namely: Financial Management, Digital Technology, Marketing & Communication, Human Capital, Tax Management, Legal and Strategy.
In collaboration with content partners, leading organisations in the respective fields, these books are envisaged to serve as resource materials for both FATE curriculum and reference material for other organisations.
This handbook series launch comes on the backdrop of a record 27.1 percent Nigerian unemployment figure recorded in the second quarter of 2020 amid a global coronavirus pandemic that has resulted in the crash of global oil price and therefore plunged the country into its worst recession in 36 years.
As more youths embrace entrepreneurship to resolve the country’s unemployment challenge, this book will serve as an ultimate guide and valuable knowledge resource for its readers.
The Executive Director of FATE Foundation, Adenike Adeyemi has explained that the handbook series will provide insightful guidance to Nigeria’s teeming population of young entrepreneurs as they navigate the changing economic trends in the Nigerian business environment.
