Ikeja Electric recently donated school materials to Lagos State Government

Ikeja Electric has again pledged to support the growth of education sector through sectoral targeted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

This was contained in a message by the leading electricity distribution company (DisCo) in commemoration of the International Day of Education 2021 themed: Recover and Revitalize Education for the Covid-19 Generation

“On this occasion, we restate our commitment in supporting and promoting quality primary education”, the DisCo said. 

TechEconomy.ng recalls that last year, Ikeja Electric partnered with the Lagos State Universal Education Board on ‘Project Zero,’ aimed at tracking and returning pupils who abandoned primary schools post COVID-19.

“Going forward, we will continue to contribute to the growth of the sector through our various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Electricity plays an important role in revitalizing education for every child as it provides light for them to read and access the internet to learn remotely.

“We will assist to create more opportunities that prepare children to excel in their academic pursuits and provide positive learning support, especially to underserved communities through our CSR initiatives”, the message concludes.
