How to fix the issue of high memory usage on Windows 10 PC?

In this article written by Alice Yangon, you are going to learn some basic knowledge about Windows computer memory and know the reasons why your computer is with high memory usage, after that, you will find out 10 practical methods to fix the issue of Windows 10 high memory usage.

Windows 10 PC

To ensure that your Windows 10 PC can store information temporarily or permanently, the computer memory is an indispensable physical device. The computer memory consists of the Cache, RAM (random access memory), and ROM (read-only memory).

It empowers the computer CPU to access instructions and data at a blazing fast speed. You can find the relationship between RAM and ROM in this article: What Is Computer Booting?

The memory is used so as to store the operational data of the CPU temporarily and the data exchanged with external memory (for example, a hard disk).

In other words, the CPU can transfer the data that needs to be operated into the memory for operation, and then transmit the result out when the operation is finished.

Furthermore, the program installed on the HDD is loaded into memory for running. Undoubtedly, the main memory is an important factor that determines your computer’s performance and stability.

How Shall I Check the Windows 10 High Memory Usage Problem?

In many cases, your Windows computer will freeze if it has a high memory usage issue. That situation happens often you are running a large game, suddenly, you will see a “Your computer is low on memory” error message on the desktop.

Actually, you could determine high memory usage issues in Windows 10 on Task Manager by doing a small diagnosisrightclick the taskbar, and then select Task Manager.
