CLRD presents operating licenses to 14 new couriers, logistics operators




Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD), an arm of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), in-charge of  the industry regulation, has said that the impact of the on-going enlightenment and enforcement exercise are yielding positive results across the industry.

This was disclosed on Friday 21st May, 2021 as the Department inducted fourteen (14) new investors and handed over to them, their licenses to operate in Nigeria.

The program took place at the NIPOST HQ Annex, Lafiaji- Obalende and was graced by some prominent and special guests from the Courier and Logistics Industry including; Chaiman, Nigerian International Air Couriers Association (NIACA), Mr Dipo Akinyele; President, Association of Nigerian Courier Operators. (ANCO), Mr Okey Ubah; Managing Director DHL represented by Bar Joseph Aghogban; Managing Director REDSTAR, Dr. Shola Obabori and the Managing Director UPS represented by Mr Umoh Micheal.

While giving his opening remarks, the General Manager, Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD), Mr Shonde Gideon Oludotun congratulated new licensees for taking the step at the right direction to secure an operating  license for their business.

He advised then to continue to follow the ethical standard and professional practices of the business.

He further admonished them to play according to the tenets of the business which is anchored on sincerity and trust, to succeed.

The AGM Audit- (CLRD), Mr Sure Amin, delivered a lecture on a topic: “Ethical Consideration and Quality Service”.

In his good will message and contributions to the lecture, the Chairman of NIACA, Mr Dipo Akinyele, encouraged the new entrants to take the business seriously and maintain a good will and mutual understanding with their customers.

On his part, the ANCO President, Mr Okey Uba, warned the players against receiving prohibited items no matter the prevalent economic situation.

According to him, “this business is all about integrity, quality service and safety of goods”.

Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of certificates to the new licensees.
