Telecommunications giant, Globacom, has announced the launch of ALWAYS ON, a new prepaid tariff that allows subscribers keep their phone numbers for one full year even if they do not use the lines during the period.

According to the company’s announcement through a press statement released on Thursday in Lagos, with a token payment of just N500, “our customers can now enjoy 365 days of uninterrupted service, even if the customer does not make or receive calls, text or browse”.

“Glo customers no longer need to worry about their lines getting suspended or disconnected even if they have not made calls, used data or SMS.

ALWAYS ON is available to all existing and new prepaid subscribers and is especially beneficial to customers who travel out of the country for long durations without access to the network or customers whose handsets get stolen or damaged but do not have immediate means of replacement. They can now be rest assured that their lines will not be disconnected due to inactivity”, the statement further said.

Customers can subscribe to the plan by simply dialing *777# and selecting ALWAYS ON from the menu. A one-time fee of N500 will subsequently be deducted from the customer’s main account upon which the 365 days uninterrupted access will be placed on the line. Customers can equally make and receive calls at any time during the yearlong subscription as long as they have sufficient airtime.

Furthermore, ALWAYS ON subscribers can still purchase Glo products and services via *777# or via Glo Café. There is no need to visit any Gloworld or to contact customer care for the line to be reactivated.

Globacom equally provided guidance on how subscribers will be notified upon expiration of their subscriptions saying, “Subscribers will receive SMS and email reminders (where applicable) prior to expiration for re-subscription to the ALWAYS ON plan.”

The company concluded the statement noting that the ALWAYS ON tariff was another way Globacom ensures its esteem customers get the most value for their money.
