AfriGlobal Insurance Brokers Limited has unveiled its InsurTech platform called AfriCover247 that allows users to register and purchase real-time motor, travel, safety plus and TERM (Life) insurance from start to finish.
AfriGlobal’s plan is to use technology innovations to assist Nigerians to squeeze out savings, buy instance policies which will disrupt the traditional insurance industry model in Nigeria.
The digital platform is designed to enable 24/7 insurance transactions including claims management from start to finish and the application is available on Android and iOS.
In other words, the app is a round the clock digital insurance transaction platform that will assist businesses, individuals and technology providers (through the API) access insurance and redistribute insurance products with ease.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AfriGlobal Insurance Brokers Ltd, Mr. Casmir Azubuike, speaking at the launch event on Friday in Lagos, said that AfriCover247 has the potentials to change the Nigerian insurance landscape
He explained that the App is the first of its kind across application in the insurance industry in Nigeria.
Providing further incites on the usage of the platform, he noted that AfriCover247 is simple, user friendly and vast for users.
Azubuike also described the app as a one-stop shop for all insurance services.
He said,” the insurance industry in Nigeria has woken up to the challenge and reality exposed by Covid-19Pandemic and the attendant lockdown.
“It is gratifying to say that AfriGlobal has scored another first as anybody anywhere in the globe can buy insurance and report claims via AfriCover24.
“You can now buy insurance, have your policy documents delivered within few minutes as well as report and have your claims settled.”
In her goodwill message, the President and Chairman, Governing Board of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRB), Dr. (Mrs.) Bola Onigbogi, said that AfriGlobal’s innovation around InsureTech is a welcome development.
According to her, the insurance industry is one of the worst hit by the stagnation of global economy caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
She said that the development has also negatively challenged the earnings of workers in public and private sectors and stifled all forms of social relationships that Nigerians are known for.
While congratulating AfriGlobal on the launch of AfriCover247, Onigbogi said that all hands must be on deck to transform the industry through value addition to the people and the economy at large
The Executive Secretary of NCRIB, Mr. Tope Adaramola, said that AfriGlobal is one of the brokers that have shown foresight in innovation and a leading company in the insurance brokerage.

The GMD who spoke through the Regional Director, Lagos Mainland, Ose Oluyanwo (Mrs.), said: “We are happy that AfriGlobal is looking at the industry from this angle. It has not come at a better time. The mileage is there and I know within a short time we shall begin to measure it. We all know that the events in the recent times: COVID-19, EndSARS, impacted the industry negatively.

The Executive Director of Zulfah Group, Mr. Rasheed Abayomi, the technical partners to AfriCover247, speaking at the launch, said the portal is very user friendly and has potential to change the insurance landscape in the country.
According to him, “the platform has an offer for all, including individuals of all demographics, corporate organization and technology-based companies”.
He listed some key features of AfriCover247 to include chat box, administration, API adaptability, user experience benefits, loss report, claims processing and payment.
“Forms and applications can be easily imported into the application and files uploaded in a variety of format using drag and drop,” he said, just as the customer-centric platform has been designed to enable users report their insurance claim from the comfort of their room and have same processed irrespective of normal working days disruptions in addition to relevant security in place.
