It’s a truism that local economies are the bedrock of national development, thus large emphasis needs to be made on strategies and efforts by both the private and public sectors in driving sustainable local economy.
This is the motivation behind founding the Hardware Garage, an acceleration Centre where the team transform hardware ideas/prototypes or concepts that are sellable in Nigeria into commercially viable products.
After successful demonstrations, the Hardware Garage launched an Annual Innovation pitch titled “StartHard 1.0”.
StartHard Competition is an Innovation pitch inviting hardware Technology entrepreneurs working in clean technology, E-mobility and agrictech.
The 2021 Innovation Pitch day is finally here and startups who made it to the finals would be pitching to investors live for a chance to raise pre-seed investments.
“At the Hardware Garage, we understand the challenges of starting a hardware/tech-based start-up in Nigeria, given the country’s unique political economy.
“We also know that the road to market penetration is far from a linear pathway. In the context of the following, we curate start-ups and give them the relevant tips, academic and research backing, machinery and equipment to build their product.
We also provide the needed office space where these ideas are nurtured and developed, and these products are formed”, Uche Ogechukwu, executive director of Hardware Garage, told TechEconomy.ng regarding their preparedness to host the event.
The StartHard 1.0 Innovation pitch day would take the form of the Dragon’s den show where the start-ups would be talking to ready investors willing to invest in the start-up.
