National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has warned Nigerians to be weary of portals advertising fake job vacancies into the federal agency.
According to a statement signed by Mrs Hadiza Umar, head, Corporate Affairs & External Relations Unit, NITDA denied neither has it advertised for any post on the said portal nor currently shopping for new staff.
The statement reads:
“The attention of the National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA) has been drawn to a fake recruitment site purported to be from the Agency circulating on the internet particularly on www.recruitmentbeam.com.ng, requesting for unsuspecting Nigerians to apply for job vacancies under the NITDA 2021-2022 recruitment exercise.
NITDA is hereby notifying the general public that the Agency has not advertised vacancies in any medium and has not contracted any third party to act on its behalf in that regard.
While our Computer Emergency Readiness and Response Team (CEERT) are working to bring the site down, we urge the general public to disregard such fake websites as they are false and misleading aim at defrauding innocent Nigerians.
As the Federal Government Agency responsible for regulating and developing national IT Policy in line with National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, we are committed to fulfilling our mandate by securing Nigeria’s cyberspace by providing support in responding to cyber security threats/incidents in the country”.
