APPLY: $25,000 B.I.S Grant awards open to innovative startups, ideas
Writer: Joan Aimuengheuwa

Organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the Business. Idea. Startup (B.I.S) Grant award is designed for innovative startups, emerging businesses and individuals with excellent business ideas.
The goal is to help Africans scale despite the state of the economy. The programme, which is divided into three stages including the application stage, the interview stage and the verification stage, seeks to empower these Africans financially, providing training and mentorship for them.
It is worthy of note that the programme refers to individuals who are yet to execute their ideas, concepts or plans as inceptors, while those already managing a business or an existing startup, are referred to as custodians.
In the selection stage, the programme examines how these business enthusiasts envision the impact of the grant funds in the growth of their idea, startup or business.
The accuracy of the information in application forms, the reasons individuals or teams are best equipped to execute their idea, startup or business and how the grant funds would impact the society at large, are criteria in which participants will be evaluated.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the B.I.S grant;
- You must be within the ages of 16 to 65
- You must have a valid national means of identification

From 54 countries of the African Union, 5,000 enthusiasts would be selected to receive the B.I.S grant of $25,000 in cash and $10,000 in training.
This sets the inception of great entrepreneurs who would join others within the African continent.

The link refuses to open despite several trials. Kept querying the unafrica.org spelling. Are you for real?
