Enextgen Wireless has published the National Independent Wireless Broadband Quality Reporting (NIWBQR) from its Emetrics study carried out in Akure, Ondo State- Nigeria on 17th and 18th, August, 2021.
Through its flagship report , NIWBQR, Enextgen Wireless provides independent account on the quality of Radio Frequency of mobile broadband wireless communication networks in Nigeria.
The company has been offering NIWBQR since 2016. The reporting system was designed to encourage Mobile Network Operators to provide high quality of Radio Frequency coverage for optimum utilization of available spectrum and excellent customer experience.
Previously based on commercial UE logging and post-processing tools, it is now using Enextlog for input data and Emetrics for processing and visualization.
It also now focuses on a combination of Enextgen Woreless’ proprietary RF quality ranking (Emetrics) and measurements of results from key applications such as ping and FTP transfers.
In this report, the company assigned 50% of the weight of the overall ranking to Emetrics, 20% each to downlink throughput and packet latency and 10% to uplink throughput.
RF quality play’s similar role in 4G LTE as the quality of Nigerian roads play in its transportation system and it is just as easy to ignore. As such, it is the primary focus of NIWBQR.
