Seasonal reality shows are the birthplace of fans, and no reality TV show has more amazing fans than Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS).
Gulder Ultimate Search was the first reality TV show to hit Nigeria, and from 2004 to 2014, it built a community of action-loving Nigerians who may not be brave enough for the jungle but appreciate the contestants who are.
Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) lovers exhibit certain qualities that stand them out. Here are some things they have in common.
1. Dedicated To The Show
Gulder Ultimate Search fans are possibly the most dedicated fanbase in Nigeria. Despite the seven-year hiatus, they were roaring to go when GUS Season 12 was announced. As past GUS seasons usually aired late evenings, many fans would stay up late, so they didn’t miss any episode.
2. Fiercely Loyal
Once GUS fans choose you, whether you win the show or not, you’re a winner in their eyes. They are fiercely loyal to their favourite contestants and support them with all their love, even years after the season ends.
3. Highly Competitive
Every reality show is a fight to the finish, and as the contestants, the fans are equally competitive. If they’re not rooting for their faves, they are campaigning about them to other people so they can support them too.
4. Contestant Wannabes
Not everyone is brave enough to face the jungle, but they live vicariously through the contestants on the show. GUS fans would love to trade places with the contestants on the show if they could.
5. Always Looking For Love
There will always be fans who wish to have a closer friendship with the contestants, and GUS fans are no different. GUS fans also seek a more intimate relationship with their favourite people on the show.
Though this may not exactly be possible, they always make do with interactions on social media.
We’re excited to see how Gulder Ultimate fans show out this season. Season 12 started on October 16 and airs on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv channel 151), Africa Magic Urban (DStv channel 153) and Africa Magic Family (DStv channel 154 & GOtv channel 2), every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
