NCC celebrates National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2021

 

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has recognised the month of October as the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM).

The NCC, in a circular on its website, noted that the NCSAM is globally aimed at raising awareness about cybersecurity and providing the general populace with knowledge and tools for online safety.

The statement read: Consumers are empowered through awareness and sensitisation on both the positive and the negative potential available for safeguard themselve and their loved loves.

Speaking on the national awereness of the month, the comission explained that the the first, second and the third weeks are for discussion on the cybercrime and cybersecurity and  understanding the law, cybercrime act.

It said the fourth and fifth weeks of the month are meant for child protection, online security and safety tips.
