ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED with amazing visual experience
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED features a 13.3-inch 16:9 OLED HDR display, 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.2 ms response time, 1.07 billion colors, up to 550 nits of peak brightness, and 0.0005 nits of deep black brightness, providing a brighter and more detailed viewing experience.
It also offers an ultrawide color gamut of 100% DCI-P3 with PANTONE Validation, which is the standard for the motion-picture industry.
To assure that HDR content will appear vivid and life-like, with accurate color and contrast reproduction, the display is also certified VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black and Dolby Vision.
Here are reasons you need to choose the ASUS OLED laptop
Professional-grade true-to-life colors
ASUS OLED laptops deliver exceptionally detailed and realistic visuals, with a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
Colors reproduced on the display are richer and more vivid: it is ideal for color-intensive projects, but it also enhances any kind of content.
Blue Light Reduction for Eye Care
Blue light is known to cause visual discomfort and disrupt sleep quality. By calibrating the spectrum, ASUS OLED laptops emit 70% less harmful blue light. Unlike traditional blue-light filters, shifting the spectrum means there is no need to compromise on color accuracy.
Since children’s eyes are not fully developed, with a more transparent lens and cornea, harmful blue light can negatively affect the eye more easily – with 80% blue light pass-through for 5 year-old children, compared to 20% for 60 year-old adults.
Great clarity at low brightness
When calculating the 3D color volume — which adds illumination to the traditional 2D color gamut — ASUS OLED displays have about a 60% higher color volume, offering better color performance at any brightness level.
When comparing color expression under different brightness, OLED’s color expression stays the same even at lower brightness, while LCD colors degrade significantly.
ASUS OLED laptops are able to show great detail at lower brightness settings. This means you can see the content more clearly without having to turn up the brightness; therefore, your eye consumes even less blue light.
ASUS OLED laptops are able to maintain color detail at any brightness, so you can adapt the brightness according to your usage environment. With lower brightness needed on OLED displays, less blue light would penetrate through your eyes.
Extreme Contrast, Astonishing Detail
OLED display has millions of light-emitting diode (LED), instead of just 50 or 60 LEDs in the LCD display. It can turn on and off the LED for each pixel on the screen, and achieve true black with 1,000,000 :1 extreme contrast ratio.
0.2ms Instant response for smooth actions
ASUS OLED displays have an ultrafast 0.2 ms response time, which is 50x faster compared to the average laptop LCD display. This ensures smoother fast-paced action scenes, low-latency gameplay, and subtle details like blur-free text scrolling.
ASUS OLED burn-in prevention
With extended use, certain pixels on the display may age, resulting in degraded colors (burn-in). Prevent OLED burn-in, these are the precautions taken:
- Default shipping in Windows dark mode
- Default OLED screen protection: Dim the screen after 5-minutes idle
- Samsung OLED burn-in refine technology
Samsung’s OLED current driving algorithm detects the aging pixels and enhances the current passing through these pixels – this mechanism enables the degraded pixels to display brighter colors, and as a result, shows accurate perceived colors.
Quad Speakers with Dolby Atmos and Smart Amplifier
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED features four built-in speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Dolby Atmos provides an all-new listening experience that lets users hear music, movies, or podcasts in a detailed aural environment, with perfect clarity and lifelike spatial separation. With a plethora of equalizer settings, users can use the presets or tune them to their audio tastes.
Volume-enhancing, distortion-suppressing smart amplifier
The quad speakers of the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is driven by a dual-channel smart amplifier that allows up to 3.5 times2 volume with clearer sound at all frequencies thanks to the dedicated high-power amplifier. While it also prevents long-term damage to the sensitive voice coils of the speakers.
Enhance your productivity platform with ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED
The latest Intel quad-core processors
To enhance productivity to match its versatility, the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is powered by the latest Intel quad-core processors with up to 8GB LPDDR4X memory and up to 256GB PCIe 3.0 SSD. This enables true-to-life video, seamless multitasking, and smooth performance across apps. It also ensures compatibility with productivity software.
A new experience with Windows 11
With Windows 11, users can run all your favorite Windows apps and programs. Furthermore, the experience for tablets is user-friendly and intuitive.
Swiping on the left side of the screen gives users access to Microsoft Window’s new customizable widgets panel, where users can catch up on the latest news, check the weather, and more! While swiping on the right side of the screen allows users to check their notifications quickly.
Intel Bridge Technology
In addition, the Windows 11’s built-in Intel Bridge Technology lets you run Android apps. So user can access all your favorite mobile apps seamlessly on the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED.
Placing it in portrait mode, not only can you scroll natively through apps, but you can also do live streams and personal video calls.
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED features two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C® ports, which can support data transfer, DisplayPort, and power deliver. In addition, the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED also offers a 3.5mm combo audio jack and a microSD card reader.
Long Battery Life and Fast Charge
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED features a 50Whr battery to keep you going for longer, providing over 9 hours of battery life on a single charge.
It also features integrated ASUS Battery Health Charging technology (charge mode setting at MyASUS software) that’s designed to reduce battery expansion during charging to help ensure that the battery stays in good condition, increasing battery longevity.
This charging technology provides safer charging and improves lifespan than normal charging. In addition, the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED features a fast-charging function that charges the battery from 0% to 60% in less than 39 minutes.
Power button with fingerprint sensor
The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED’s power button features an integrated Single Sign-On (SSO) fingerprint sensor which is an easy and more secure way to unlock the device. Users only press the power button once to get straight to work.
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED features dual cameras. The 5-megapixel camera at the front is able to make clear video calls and chats for work or pleasure a cinch and capture stunning high-resolution pictures via the rear 13-megapixel camera.
On the plus side, Vivobook 13 Slate OLED (T3300) keyboard is very comfortable to work with, Asus provides both a stylus and a protective sleeve, and it’s nice to see MicroSD card support.
However, the OLED screen is a bit short on resolution and the speakers are poor, which compromises video viewing.
On the computing front the low-end processor and 4GB of RAM will struggle with demanding workloads, and on-board storage is limited. It’s also a shame that neither Windows Hello face authentication nor — at least on my review unit — a fingerprint scanner are available.
The Asus 2-in-1 with an OLED screen retail price starts at N263,400 ($600)
