Nigerian edtech startup, Klas, has raised $130,000 in an angel funding round led by a range of investors including Tola Adesanmi of Spleet, Odunayo Eweniyi of Piggyvest, Nadayar Enegesi of Eden life, Njoku Emmanuel of Lazerpay, Leonard Stiegeler of Jumia, Voltron Capital, Cabal Fund, Velocity Digital, HoaQ, among others.

Klas will leverage the new financing to facilitate its innovation drive and expand its virtual schooling globally.

Nathan Nwachuku and Lekan Adejumo founded Klas in 2021 with a mission to unlock the power of knowledge sharing through technology and make education seamless. The tech company is building the future of online teaching and making it easy for anyone to start an online school and deliver live classes.

The startup affirms to have over 2,000 creators on its waitlist, released V2, and worked with leading companies worldwide. Creators can teach a variety of subjects, including coding, design, cryptography, business, and languages on the platform.

Klas has a team of highly technical individuals working remotely to build the best online teaching platform in the world. The completely free-to-use platform charges a 5% fee on every paid booking and takes care of logistics issues related to online teaching, from scheduling to payments, student management and hosting an engaging class experience in the virtual classroom.
