WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to post their WhatsApp Status to their Facebook Story automatically.
This optional feature aims to make it easier for people to share their updates with friends and family across both platforms. With more than 2 billion people using WhatsApp every month, the messaging app has become a go-to platform for people to connect with each other. The rise of Stories on social media will enable WhatsApp users share their moments with even more people.
Speaking on the new feature; a statement from the Company reads: “Status is a popular way to share updates with friends and close contacts on WhatsApp. They disappear in 24 hours and may include photos, videos, GIFs, text, and more.
A lot of WhatsApp users love the existing option to post their Status to their Facebook Story. We’ve also gotten feedback that people want this process to be easier, so they don’t have to manually post their WhatsApp Status each time. We’re excited to introduce an optional feature that makes it easier for people to post their WhatsApp Status to their Facebook Story automatically if they want to do so. As always, users are in control: Sharing is turned off by default; you have to opt in to use it, and can disable it at any time you want to.”
The integration of WhatsApp and Facebook has been in the works for a while now. Facebook acquired WhatsApp back in 2014, and since then, there have been talks of integrating the two platforms. With this new feature, WhatsApp users can now share their WhatsApp Status with a broader audience on Facebook.
The new feature is simple to use. If you want to share your Status on Facebook, all you have to do is select the “Share to Facebook Story” option when you post your status. Your Status will then be shared on your Facebook Story automatically.
This feature is not only convenient but also a time-saver. Users can now share their WhatsApp Status with their Facebook friends without having to go through the tedious process of uploading the same Status separately on Facebook. This feature is especially useful for people who have a large following on both platforms.
However, it is important to note that this feature is optional. Users can choose whether they want to enable it or not. If you don’t want to share your WhatsApp Status on Facebook, you can simply disable the feature. Privacy concerns have been a major issue when it comes to social media platforms, and the company has taken this into consideration.
Expatiating on privacy, the statement read further: “WhatsApp Status is built with privacy top of mind. Like your personal chats and calls, Status is protected by end-to-end encryption so you can share privately and securely. Earlier this year, we also introduced a privacy audience selector for Status, so you can choose who gets to view your Status.”
