Starlink’s high-speed services will be made available throughout Africa thanks to a partnership reached by Paratus Group.
Through this partnership, Paratus will be able to offer Starlink to its customers in a few African regions.
Paratus is Africa’s quality network that is investing in infrastructure and positioning itself as a major player in providing comprehensive network services across Africa with an eye toward the future.
Angola, Botswana, the DRC, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zambia are the seven African nations where Paratus is based. The company’s extended network offers a satellite connectivity-focused service to a sizable number of customer satellite connections throughout Africa and in more than 35 other African nations.
According to Martin Cox, Group Chief Commercial Officer of Paratus, the company can provide remote industry sectors with the dependable and continuous connectivity they require to thrive, including land and offshore energy, mining, hotels, education, healthcare, agriculture, and more.
“The Starlink agreement further strengthens our LEO (low-earth orbit) satellite services offering across Africa and affirms our capability and reach on the continent. It reinforces our goal to collaborate with entities that share our vision of transforming both African businesses and communities.”
Before being made available in more nations, Paratus will first offer Starlink in Mozambique, Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria.
Starlink, a provider of high-speed broadband Internet using low-Earth orbit satellites, offers an alternative to fixed-line or mobile telecom solutions, particularly in underserved areas.
Tens of thousands of business sites and clients are currently supported by Starlink in a range of ways, including as a major enterprise connection, a 4G and VSAT replacement, backup, an interim setup, and emergency services.
With immediate effect, Paratus will be able to offer fixed, mobile, and maritime services to its clients.
