At the 2023 HVAC Design Award, held in Korea this year, Nigeria made its debut in the competition and emerged victorious.

The HVAC Consultants Award Ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) contractors who showed exceptional expertise in the program.

Mr. Joonkyu Song, the General Manager of Air Solution at LG Electronics West Africa Operations, expressed his delight at the success of Nigerian HVAC consultants. In his welcome address, he noted the importance of the HVAC design award, stating, “The competition was entered into by all HVAC consultants, designers, and companies across LG subsidiaries, and it grabbed my heart to see two of our consultants emerging as the winners.”

He commended the awardees for their dedication, creative problem-solving, and seamless integration of cutting-edge technology into HVAC systems. Mr. Song acknowledged the impact of their success on energy efficiency and environmental consciousness, urging continuous innovation and sustainability in the industry.

Vinoth Sankar, the Manager of Air Conditioning in Nigeria, shed light on the journey of the consultants to the competition. He explained how, in response to a lack of submissions from West Africa in the previous year, efforts were made to encourage consultants to participate actively. Sankar showed satisfaction with the increased number of submissions and highlighted the success of the top two, who secured the bronze award.

Mr. Song and Mr. Vijay Bakshi, Part Leader of Commercial Air Conditioner in Nigeria and West Africa, presented the award and gifts to the winners. Mr. Vijay encouraged further participation in future events, stating, “We encourage you and other consultants in the market to participate more in the next year.”
