BCX, a digital ICT provider has taken a significant step forward in safeguarding its clients against the rising tide of cyber threats with the launch of the BCX Threat Defence Centre.

This cutting-edge facility is designed to offer end-to-end cyber security defence management, providing clients with a robust shield against the escalating number of cyber-attacks.

The surge in cyber-related incidents is a global phenomenon as information technology advances and reliance on technology deepens.

The frequency and severity of these incidents are on the rise, with South Africa also grappling with the repercussions of this growing trend.

“Well-known and established organisations in South Africa have become victims of sophisticated cyberattacks. South Africa is not exempt from these challenges, witnessing a consistent uptick in cyber-attacks in recent times,” admits Mpho Matsitse, Acting Managing Executive for Cyber Security at BCX.

BCX recognises the importance of a proactive and comprehensive approach to cyber security.

The Threat Defence Centre is strategically positioned to address the evolving landscape of cyber threats, offering clients a responsive and resilient defence mechanism.

Matsitse, commented on the launch, stating, “The BCX Threat Defence Centre signifies a pivotal milestone in our commitment to ensuring the security and integrity of our clients’ digital infrastructure. In today’s digital age, the risk of cyber-attacks is a constant reality, and we believe that a robust cyber security strategy is fundamental to business resilience.”

The Threat Defence Centre will provide clients with a suite of services, including advisory services, vulnerability assessments, pen testing, real-time threat detection, including monitoring, incident response management, and threat intelligence.

This holistic approach aims to not only detect and mitigate cyber threats but also to proactively identify potential vulnerabilities and strengthen clients’ overall cyber security position.

According to Matsitse, the BCX Threat Defence Centre is housed with highly skilled and certified cyber-security professionals who have a deep understanding of the cyber-security world.  They are able to conduct in-depth analyses of emerging cyber threats to not only resolve current threats but also help clients stay ahead of evolving attack methodologies.
