Dr Aminu Maida, the executive vice chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on Tuesday paid a visit to the Commission’s Enugu Zonal Office.

During the visit, the EVC toured the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) Campus in Enugu State. This gave him the opportunity to assess the facilities on the campus.

The tour of Enugu Zonal Office by the EVC concluded his tour of the five Zonal Offices of the Commission.

Remarkably, he is the first Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission to visit all Zonal Offices.

During these visits, Dr. Maida has interacted with staff, heard from them—on a first hand basis—the issues they are facing, how they are surmounting challenges, and achieving successful outcomes. The meetings also provided the new Executive Vice Chairman a platform to share with staff his strategic focus areas and drivers.

A fundamental message he has reiterated during these visits are his leadership drivers: that people are the major assets of the Commission and they would be tooled to succeed; that the Commission will take collaboration seriously; data-driven decisions will drive Quality of Service enforcement and compliance; compliance will be meticulously pursued; while digitalization will be the backbone for the Commission’s efficiency, transparency and accountability.

As was the case during his visit to other Zonal Offices, Dr. Aminu Maida took the opportunity to thank staff of the Commission in Enugu for their exceptional work and dedication to duty.

He also emphasised his resolve to strengthen the Zonal Offices for optimal capacity, describing the offices as legs of the Commission that are closer the most to the people.
