At the Apple Let Loose event, the next generation of creative tools for iPad users was unveiled — Final Cut Pro 2 and Logic Pro 2.
These redesigned apps were built with a touch-first experience, making them intuitive for both seasoned Mac users expanding their workflows and a new generation of iPad creators.
Final Cut Pro 2 will Boost Your Video Editing
Final Cut Pro 2 enables users to record, edit, finalize, and share professional-grade videos entirely on iPad. Leveraging the power of the M4 chip, rendering speeds are now up to twice as fast compared to M1.
This latest version introduces Live Multicam, a feature that transforms the iPad into a multicam production studio.
Live Multicam allows filmmakers to connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously, putting them in complete control. Creators can remotely direct each video angle and adjust exposure, white balance, focus, and more directly from the iPad.
A companion app, Final Cut Camera, is available for iPhone and iPad, enabling users to capture additional angles during a live multicam shoot or record professional videos with precise manual controls. Final Cut Pro seamlessly transfers and syncs each multicam angle, ensuring a smooth transition from production to editing.
With M4 on board, Final Cut Pro 2 offers incredible editing and finishing capabilities. Users can now work with up to four times more ProRes RAW streams compared to M1.
Color grading, applying effects, and rendering complex timelines are all faster, making HDR content look even more stunning. Final Cut Pro 2 brings entirely new video editing workflows on iPad, transforming it into a powerful production studio.
Logic Pro 2 will Elevate Your Music Creation
Logic Pro 2 targets music producers of all levels, from emerging artists to seasoned professionals. This intuitive touch-based app provides a complete studio experience. Logic Pro 2 introduces several amazing features that enhance music creation.
Building upon the popular Drummer feature, Logic Pro 2 introduces Session Players, a collection of AI-powered virtual bass and keyboard players that collaborate seamlessly with existing tracks. Simple controls allow users to dial in the perfect performance, adding depth and complexity to their music.
Another innovative feature is ChromaGlow, a new plugin that emulates the warmth of analog recordings. In leveraging machine learning, ChromaGlow captures the essence of analog sound in amazing detail. With the power of M4, users can apply ChromaGlow to multiple tracks simultaneously, replicating the rich soundscapes of a world-class recording studio.
Finally, Logic Pro 2 introduces Stem Splitter, a powerful tool that extracts specific elements from any audio recording. This allows producers to isolate drums, vocals, or other instruments without requiring the original tracks or stems. Powered by the M4 chip, Stem Splitter works directly on the device, enabling fast and efficient remixing.
With a redesigned interface for touch and a great load of intelligent features powered by the M4 chip, Final Cut Pro 2 and Logic Pro 2 enable iPad users to create professional-quality videos and music productions on the go.
