Beware of Enugu recruitment scams

Beware of recruitment scams

The Enugu State Government has warned members of the public to be cautious of recruitment scams, even as it denied rumours of ongoing recruitment exercises in the state.

In a statement issued by Mr Robinson Odo, the chairman, Enugu State Civil Service Commission, on Wednesday in Enugu, he stressed that no recruitment process is currently ongoing, stressing that the information on social media calling on prospective applicants to apply is false.

“Please, disregard the news circulating on the social media alleging that the state civil service commission is currently recruiting. Those directing applicants to apply through certain website are unscrupulous agents and fraudsters,” he added.

The statement further advised the public to verify information through official channels to avoid falling prey to scammers.

The government also warned that any individual or group found engaging in recruitment scams would face the full wrath of the law, saying series of recruitments had been carried out successfully by the government through the right channels.

“This government has successfully carried out thousands of employments through verifiable channels. The processes were traceable, transparent and accountable in line with the governing philosophy of the Governor Peter Mbah administration. Any job opening will be made public through the appropriate means of communication,” the statement added.

The government assured citizens that it would continue to prioritize transparency and accountability in all its dealings, and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
