MTN Nigeria has reversed the hike in its 15G data bundle price, Techeconomy can report.
The mobile network operator has increased its 15G bundle price by 200% to the surprise of the subscribers.
However, Techeconomy can report that MTN has reversed the increase in compliance with the Federal Government’s approved rates for telcos through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
As posted on is verified X handle, MTN Nigeria apologized to the subscribers, thus:
“To our 15G digital bundle lovers,
“You dey vex (you are angry). We know.
“We know how upsetting it might have been to suddenly wake up to a 200% increase on your favourite digital bundle.
“We could share several reasons, and provide explanations, but ‘omo, all-that one na story’”.
“We don cast. We get it and admit it. Let’s just say na mistake.
“In this love season, don’t stay angry with us. Please, forgive and forget. You matter die and we will never stop showing you how much. Let’s continue our relationship.
“Thank you for your understanding”.
Techeconomy’s investigation shows that the 15G digital bundle was heavily subsidized before the now. However, upon removal of the subsidy, the rate ballooned to about 200%, but the telco has now removed it.
