Apple is now facing a federal lawsuit over alleged deceptive marketing tactics for its much-hyped Apple Intelligence features.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in San Jose, States that Apple misled customers into purchasing new devices by promoting AI-powered features that remain unavailable.

The plaintiffs are seeking class-action status and financial damages on behalf of those who bought Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhones and other Apple devices.

Their argument? That Apple’s marketing created the expectation that these advanced AI-driven features—especially the upgraded Siri—would be ready from day one. Instead, customers received products with either severely limited or nonexistent versions of the promised technology.

One of the lawsuit’s core claims is that Apple’s aggressive advertising campaign misled consumers. “Apple’s advertisements saturated the internet, television, and other airwaves to cultivate a clear and reasonable consumer expectation that these transformative features would be available upon the iPhone’s release,” the lawsuit states.

It further argues that the company “knew it would drive unprecedented excitement in the market” while using these claims to justify premium pricing.

Apple has yet to respond to the allegations.

The legal action also calls attention to a widely circulated ad from September, featuring actor Bella Ramsey promoting Siri’s supposed new capabilities. The lawsuit points out that Apple later removed this advertisement from YouTube but has done little to correct what it describes as “similarly false representations in the market.”

The case has been filed by Clarkson Law Firm—the same firm that has previously sued Google and OpenAI. However, unlike those cases, this one targets AI features that were never delivered rather than those that allegedly misuse data.
