Transcorp Power Plc, a power generation company in Nigeria, has announced a post-tax profit of N32.6 billion for Q1 2025, a 62% year-on-year increase.

According to the company’s unaudited Q1 2025 financial statement released on the Nigerian Exchange, the company recorded improvements across key performance metrics.

Revenue from contracts with customers rose by 55.4% to N105.4 billion, up from N67.9 billion in the same period last year.

This growth was driven by increased earnings from both local and international customers, with local customers contributing the majority.

Revenue from local customers rose to N77.1 billion, while international customers contributed N28.3 billion.

Operating profit jumped to N44.5 billion, from N29.4 billion year-on-year. Finance income increased by 34% to N1.7 billion, up from N1.3 billion.

Profit before tax also climbed by 50% to N43.3 billion, compared to N28.8 billion in Q1 2024. Earnings per share (EPS) increased to N4.35, from N2.69.

Total assets appreciated by 13% to N447 billion, up from N396.8 billion, while total liabilities rose to N314 billion, from N270 billion year-on-year. Net cash flows from operating activities also improved, rising to N16.4 billion from N9.4 billion.

Transcorp Power Plc, formerly known as Transcorp Power Limited, is a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc. Its core operations include the generation and sale of electric power.

The company’s strong Q1 2025 performance builds on the momentum from its 2024 financial year, stressing its resilience in Nigeria’s dynamic energy sector.
