Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, a razor-thin phone with elegant design, giving users what is expected from flagship smartphones in 2025.
At just 5.8mm thick and 163 grams in weight, the S25 Edge shaves off nearly a third of the bulk seen in the Ultra model, and it still manages to house a top-tier 200MP camera, a titanium frame, and Galaxy’s most advanced on-device features to date.
It goes on sale in the UK and US from 30th May, with a retail price starting at £1,099 (₦2.4m) for the 256GB model and £1,199 for the 512GB version.
We’ve taken a deep look into what this device offers, and it’s beyond good looks.
Ultra-Slim, Still Strong
Samsung hasn’t cut corners with this slimmed-down design. The titanium chassis and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 give the phone structural integrity while keeping it light.
Its smooth curved edges and minimal thickness make it feel more like a fashion accessory than a tech gadget, but it’s built to last.
The weight-to-power ratio is commendable. At 163g, the S25 Edge feels almost featherweight in hand, yet it carries the same flagship-grade internals found in the beefier S25 Ultra.
Camera System
Here’s where the Galaxy S25 Edge pulls ahead of anything this thin: the camera. It retains Samsung’s best-in-class 200MP wide sensor with 2x optical-quality zoom, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus for macro shots, and a 12MP front camera.
Night photography gets a serious upgrade, with Samsung claiming over 44% brightness improvement in low-light scenarios. Add in pro-grade image enhancement from the Galaxy ProVisual Engine and you’ve got a camera system that handles everything from portraits to plants without missing detail.
Users still get AI-assisted tools like Audio Eraser and Drawing Assist, features previously seen on the S25 series, now brought into a much slimmer form.
Performance
The S25 Edge is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, delivering AI-enhanced processing and fast performance across all use cases, from streaming and gaming to camera processing and productivity tasks.
Samsung has reworked the internal cooling system to ensure stable performance. A broader but thinner vapor chamber sits under the hood, making sure the device stays cool under pressure.
ProScaler tech brings a 43% improvement in display image scaling, while Samsung’s mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) enhances visual output with noticeable clarity.
Smart Features That Learn With You
Running Android 15 and One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 Edge is deeply integrated with Galaxy AI, Samsung’s focus on intelligent, user-aware functionality. The AI experience is everywhere: from editing tools to smart reminders and contextual routines that adapt to your location and habits.
One of the unique integrations is Gemini Live, which lets users share real-world or on-screen visuals in real time while chatting. It’s a clever step toward making AI feel like part of the user interface rather than just a behind-the-scenes processor.
Annika Bizon, mobile experience VP of Product and Marketing at Samsung UK & Ireland, said: “Galaxy S25 Edge redefines smartphone design, with no compromise on performance. It’s our slimmest S Series device yet, created with style and strength in mind. Featuring an iconic Galaxy AI-enabled camera, it opens up a world of creativity in a light, elegant form factor for customers wanting stylish design and the best features Galaxy has to offer.”
Battery Life and Charging
Battery capacity is rated at 3,900mAh, with a 55% charge achievable in around 30 minutes using a 25W adapter (sold separately). Fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare are also supported, including compatibility with Samsung’s existing wearables and select smartphones.
Water Resistance, Colours, and Connectivity
The Galaxy S25 Edge is IP68-rated, meaning it can survive submersion in up to 1.5m of freshwater for up to 30 minutes, though it’s not built for beach or pool use.
Connectivity options are forward-facing: 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and full Samsung ecosystem support.
It comes in three colours—Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack, and Titanium Icyblue.
Early Bird Offer
Pre-orders have started. The first 2,500 customers to join the New Galaxy Club will receive a £100 voucher towards the S25 Edge.
