International speakers and local industry leaders are converging on Lagos this weekend for Decentralized Nigeria 2025, with major industry players including Busha, cNGN, and Blok AI throwing their weight behind what promises to be Africa’s biggest Web3 conference of the year.

The Civic Centre in Victoria Island will host the landmark event on Saturday, July 5th, bringing together blockchain innovators, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders under the theme “Igniting Africa’s Web3 Revolution.”

The groundbreaking conference, co-convened by Nova Phoenix, MD/CEO of Lyfeblood, who is traveling from the United States specifically for this event, represents a milestone in Africa’s blockchain ecosystem development.

“My passion for Africa, the motherland, is one of the core inspirations for putting this together,” said Nova Phoenix, co-convener of Decentralized Nigeria 2025. “We’re here to help grow the ecosystem and empower Nigerians with the knowledge, networks, and opportunities needed to lead Africa’s digital revolution. The talent and innovation I see coming out of Nigeria and across Africa is absolutely phenomenal, and this conference is about amplifying that potential on a global stage.”

Rume Ophi, co-convener of the event, and an industry leader emphasized the critical importance of the gathering for anyone serious about understanding the trajectory of digital innovation in Africa.

“This is a conference anyone serious about the future should not miss,” Ophi stated. “We’re not just talking about technology for technology’s sake – we’re discussing how blockchain and Web3 innovations can solve real African problems, create genuine economic opportunities, and position our continent as a leader in the next phase of global digital evolution. The conversations happening here this weekend will shape the next decade of African tech innovation.”

The conference features four carefully curated panel sessions addressing the most pressing challenges and opportunities in Africa’s Web3 space.

The lineup includes established industry veterans and emerging innovators who are actively building the infrastructure for Africa’s digital future.

In the same vein, the conference has attracted support from major players in Nigeria’s financial technology and blockchain sectors, indicating the growing institutional recognition of Web3’s importance to Africa’s economic future.

Busha, one of Nigeria’s leading cryptocurrency platforms, has stepped forward as a key sponsor.

Olaoluwa Samuel-Biyi, director at Busha, explained their motivation: “Nigeria is leading Africa’s Web3 charge, with the talent, need, and innovation to back it. But continued progress depends on education, infrastructure, and regulation. That’s why Busha is proud to support Decentralized Nigeria 2025—an important platform for driving these conversations forward.”

cNGN, another major sponsor, has also thrown its weight behind the initiative.

Chinonso Chijioke of BLOK AI expressed his enthusiasm:

“We supporting Decentralized Nigeria because we believe that this will be a major project of impact for the web3 scene in Africa.”

The conference has secured partnerships with prominent media organizations, ensuring broad coverage of the discussions and insights generated. Channels Television, Techeconomy, Business Insider, and CAB are among the media partners supporting the event.

Unlike many blockchain conferences that focus primarily on investment opportunities and speculative applications, Decentralized Nigeria Conference 2025 has deliberately positioned itself as a platform for discussing practical, sustainable Web3 applications that address real African challenges.

The conference agenda reflects a mature understanding of where the African Web3 ecosystem needs to focus its energy – on building trust, creating genuine utility, and developing solutions that work within the continent’s unique technological, economic, and regulatory context.

Panel discussions will address critical topics including regulatory navigation, sustainable marketing strategies that build community rather than hype, and funding mechanisms that support long-term growth over short-term speculation.

The conference represents a significant step in Nigeria’s evolution as a major player in the global Web3 ecosystem.

By bringing together local innovators with international perspectives, the event aims to ensure that African Web3 development benefits from global best practices while remaining authentically focused on African needs and opportunities.

The speaker lineup includes business development leaders from major cryptocurrency platforms, founders of agricultural blockchain initiatives, infrastructure entrepreneurs, and educational leaders who are making blockchain technology accessible to mainstream African audiences.

The conference boasts an impressive lineup of speakers representing the full spectrum of Africa’s Web3 ecosystem. Industry veterans include Hanu Fejiro, Founder, Patricia Technologies; Chinedu Obidiegwu, Business Development Lead at Luno Nigeria, one of Africa’s leading cryptocurrency platforms; Senator Ihenyen,  and Muhammad Abdullahi Yusuf, Key Opinion Leader at 100 Million Foundation, who brings extensive experience in Web3 marketing and community building. The speaker roster also features innovative founders like Shamsuddeen Ibrahim, founder of The Orange Block, and Jerry Gwamna, a crypto project advisor with deep expertise in blockchain security and DeFi applications, among many others.

Organizers have positioned Decentralized Nigeria 2025 not as a one-off event, but as the beginning of a sustained effort to support Nigeria’s Web3 ecosystem development. The connections made, strategies discussed, and collaborations initiated at this weekend’s conference are expected to continue driving innovation and growth throughout 2025 and beyond.

The conference takes place on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. With limited seating and growing interest from across the African tech ecosystem, the event is expected to set new standards for Web3 conferences across the continent.

As Africa continues to emerge as a force in global blockchain adoption and innovation, events like Decentralized Nigeria 2025 play a crucial role in ensuring that the continent’s Web3 development is strategic, sustainable, and beneficial to the millions of Africans who stand to benefit from these transformative technologies.
