The recently concluded 3rd cohort of the CyberSec IMPACT training program has drawn widespread praise for its transformative impact on cybersecurity education in Nigeria.

Spearheaded by Professor Adebukola Onashoga, team lead at TechNetSpace, in collaboration with GlobalTech Institute, the initiative brought together aspiring cybersecurity professionals for an intensive ethical hacking training experience.

A key highlight of the program was the generous sponsorship by Professor Isa Ali Pantami, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy and a professor of cybersecurity.

His financial support enabled a significant number of participants to access the training, removing barriers and empowering them with critical skills.

“I believe in empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals,” Pantami stated. “I am delighted to support this initiative and contribute to the growth of cybersecurity in our community.”

The training was facilitated by Dr. Oluwayomi Asogbon, a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), whose technical expertise and engaging delivery earned high praise from participants.

His ability to simplify complex concepts and foster hands-on learning was a cornerstone of the program’s success.

Participants expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity, highlighting the program’s structure, expert instruction, and the chance to network with peers.

Testimonials poured in from attendees like Muhammad Aliyu, who called the experience “a game-changer,” and Ibrahim Hussain, who noted that the training “exceeded expectations” and credited Pantami’s sponsorship for enabling his full participation.

The closing ceremony was a celebration of achievement and promise. Distinguished guests, including Ambassador Olusegun Olugbile, president of the Global Network for Cyber Solutions and recipient of the 2024 Cybersecurity Advocate Award, commended Professor Onashoga’s leadership. Olugbile pledged to forward the list of graduates to international communities for job opportunities and expressed interest in future collaborations.

Dr. O. J. Falana, an EC-Council and Cisco Certified Ethical Hacking Instructor, also delivered a goodwill message, urging graduates to uphold ethical values and continue their learning journey.

“This marks the beginning of a professional path that demands integrity, curiosity, and responsibility,” he emphasized.

Prof. Onashoga, who also leads the Campus-wide Cybersecurity Awareness programme, was lauded for her dedication to advancing cybersecurity professionalism. She congratulated the cohort on their completion and encouraged them to remain committed to growth in the field.

With its comprehensive curriculum, expert facilitators, and visionary sponsors, CyberSec IMPACT 3.0 has set a new benchmark for cybersecurity training in Nigeria, one that promises lasting impact on the nation’s digital resilience.
