Ruth Ehiorobo is a growth strategist and business leader whose career bridges two transformative worlds – fintech and digital inclusion.

Over the last four years, she has emerged as one of Africa’s rising voices in digital transformation, spearheading initiatives that have powered payments for thousands of businesses while opening doors for women across the continent to thrive in the digital economy.

Her journey didn’t begin in a boardroom or a startup hub.

It began at a bank, where she helped customers navigate financial products and policies. Yet Ruth’s curiosity and ambition quickly outgrew the routine.

“I realized I wanted to be closer to where real change was happening -where technology was reshaping how we buy, sell, and connect,” she recalls.

That drive led her to make a bold move into fintech, despite repeated warnings from friends and colleagues about the high pressure and unpredictability of sales and growth roles.

At Flutterwave, one of Africa’s largest tech companies, Ruth helped scale digital payment solutions that now process millions of transactions monthly.

She later joined Payaza Africa as Head of Growth and Partnerships, where she leads market expansion efforts and helps small and medium enterprises adopt secure, efficient, and affordable digital payment systems.

Among her most notable achievements, Ruth Ehiorobo onboarded Grey Finance, navigating complex KYC, technical, and operational requirements. Thanks to her leadership, Grey Finance’s integration unlocked monthly transaction volumes and treasury sales exceeding ₦25 billion (~£1.25 million) on Payaza’s platform, benefiting over 1 million users across Africa and beyond.

Ruth’s impact extends beyond commercial growth. Since 2022, she has mentored early-stage founders through the SBC AfriTech accelerator and LABS by Bincom, supporting fintech and tech startups to strengthen their business models, achieve product–market fit, and scale sustainably.

Several of the founders she has guided have since built high-growth teams and secured significant venture backing.

Her success in securing funding from programs like the ARM Labs Innovation Program and Antler UK helped establish her as a standout leader in the space, earning her recognition among TechTrends Africa’s “Top 7 African Women Shaping Fintech” for her contributions to digital finance and inclusion.

“Growth isn’t just about numbers or revenue,” Ruth Ehiorobo says. “It’s about creating opportunities for people, businesses, and communities. When individuals, especially women, gain access to digital tools, they can scale, innovate, and lift others with them. That’s the impact I strive for every day.”

From payments infrastructure to mentoring emerging startups, Ruth stands at the intersection of technology and social impact. Her expertise in fintech growth, account management, and digital strategy continues to influence organizations across Africa, shaping inclusive and resilient digital ecosystems.

Looking ahead, she plans to expand her work in fintech and social innovation, exploring how payment infrastructure, financial literacy, and digital skills can collectively drive sustainable economic growth.

Ruth Ehiorobo’s story is one of courage, vision, and measurable impact, a reminder that true digital transformation isn’t just about technology; it’s about people, opportunity, and the relentless pursuit of growth.
