Realme C83 5G has officially joined the company’s budget smartphone lineup, bringing a large battery, high refresh-rate display and 5G connectivity to the entry-level segment.
The new device shows the strategy of Realme to strengthen its presence in price-sensitive markets, where it competes with brands such as TECNO, Infinix and itel.
First launched in India on March 7, shortly after the annual Mobile World Congress 2026, the smartphone came with a starting retail price of about $149 depending on the configuration.
Although the phone debuted in Asia, devices in this category typically reach African markets shortly after launch through retail distributors and online sellers. In Nigeria, the Realme C83 5G is expected to sell between ₦180,000 and ₦210,000, depending on storage configuration and import costs.
Realme says the device is designed to meet growing demand for affordable smartphones that combine long battery life with modern connectivity.
While it is not built to compete with mid-range devices, the phone targets students, first-time smartphone users and everyday users who need a reliable device for basic tasks.
The combination of 5G connectivity, a high refresh-rate display and a large battery stresses Realme’s focus on providing future-ready features at an entry-level price.

Performance and Battery

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a processor that has appeared in earlier budget devices, including Realme models released around 2024. While the chip is capable of handling everyday apps and light gaming, it does not represent a major jump in performance.
