Dr. Lola Olukuewu, founder, Bloom Academy for Artificial Intelligence

Bloom Academy for Artificial Intelligence (BAFAI), Nigeria’s foremost AI education institution, today announced the expansion of its curriculum and facilitator faculty, cementing its role as the leading AI leadership development academy for Africa and the global south.

With a bold new suite of courses, world-class industry partners, and a mission to close the global AI skills gap, BAFAI is redefining what accessible, high-impact AI education looks like for emerging economies.

At a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping every sector of the global economy, Africa risks being left behind, not for lack of talent, but for lack of access.

BAFAI was founded to change that. Operating from Lagos with a fully online platform that reaches learners across the continent and beyond, BAFAI now offers seven certificate programmes spanning AI Fundamentals, Agentic AI, AI Ethics, AI Research, Workflow Automation, Data Annotation, and AI Task Management, most offered at heavily discounted rates or on full scholarship.

Commenting on the latest development, Dr. Lola Olukuewu, Founder and CEO, BAFAI Academy said:

“Africa and the global south do not need to wait for the world to bring AI to us. We are building it ourselves, one leader, one expert at a time. BAFAI exists to ensure that geography is never a barrier to opportunity. The future of AI must include Africa, and BAFAI is making that future a reality today.”

Dr. Olukuewu brings to BAFAI a rare combination of global standing and local conviction. A Senior Fellow at AI For Developing Nations (AIFOD), Forbes Business Council Member, and an investor in creating Agentic AI solutions for call centers in Africa, she has represented Africa’s AI interests on the world stage, including at the UN’s AIFOD Forum in Geneva, and returned home with a singular purpose: to build Nigeria’s AI talent pipeline from the ground up.

The latest expansion adds new courses in Agentic AI, AI Ethics, AI Research, Workflow Automation, and Data Annotation, and welcomes an expanded faculty of over ten qualified instructors drawn from across the globe.

These programmes are designed to require no coding background, making them accessible to professionals, entrepreneurs, and students at every level.

BAFAI has already trained thousands of learners across multiple cohorts, with graduates reporting measurable career advancements and direct application of AI skills in their workplaces.

BAFAI’s model is deliberately inclusive. In ongoing collaborations with international organisations working to match graduate skills to in-demand global roles, the academy is positioning its alumni not just for local relevance but for global competitiveness.

With programmes priced to remove financial barriers, including full scholarships on several courses, BAFAI is proving that world-class AI education can be both rigorous and accessible.
