Messaging giant WhatsApp experienced a widespread outage, affecting its app and website users globally.

DownDetector, a reputable website that tracks online service disruptions, reported the first signs of trouble at approximately 4 pm ET.

The outage has left millions of users unable to send or receive messages, photos, or access the internet through the application.

TechEconomy, a leading technology news outlet, verified the widespread disruption when attempting to utilize WhatsApp’s services during the outage.

Users worldwide have expressed frustration as the outage persisted, and WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta, has not yet issued an official statement acknowledging the problem.

The scale and duration of the outage remain unknown, leading to widespread speculation about the cause.

Some users have voiced concerns over the possibility of a cyberattack, while others speculate that technical glitches may be at fault. WhatsApp has not provided any details regarding the reason behind the outage.
