Dataleum, leading data training and consulting company awards a Nine-million-naira Scholarship Programme to female football teams for Sports Analytics.

Three teams were the beneficiaries of the Sports Data Analytics scholarship, which was handed out by Dataleum, to the winner, as well as first and second runners-up of the Under 15 Girls Inter-Secondary School Football Tournament organized by Lagos Tigers Academy and Kid Sport FC.

The top three teams were selected based on their performance in the football match, where each team was presented with three-million-naira worth of scholarships.

Beneficiaries of the scholarship will be introduced to the provisions of data analytics, and how it can be incorporated into the approach and application of sports, with the aim of improving the process each team implements in their training drills.

“We recognize the participation of females in sports and how it contributes to their psychological and physical well-being, as well as societal development, and are also conversant with the rapid acceptance and implementation of data analytics in sports,” said Nehita Odigie, a representative of Dataleum.

The scholarship launch is a reflection of Dataleum’s commitment to using data, in driving positive change in the world. It is also a part of the company’s broader efforts to promote gender diversity and equality in the field of data as well as sports.

Bode Roberts, the CEO, on behalf of his organization, congratulates the football teams on their achievement and looks forward to supporting them through this Sports Analytics training as a way to contribute to their future and the future of data in sports.
