Eden Life, a Nigerian home service platform, is set to launch an e-commerce marketplace, expanding its offerings beyond laundry, cleaning, and meal-delivery services.

Being part of its mission to expand into the larger retail market and reach a wider customer base, Eden Life has built the marketplace in such a way that allows vendors to sell products in categories such as food, medicine, beauty, and cosmetics. The company’s subscription model and cost had previously limited its reach, as it was only affordable to a small segment of the population.

The new marketplace is also a response to the dwindling purchasing power in Nigeria, where the economy has been struggling in recent years; many people are finding it difficult to afford necessities. With a wide range of products at competitive prices, Eden Life seeks to make its services more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

The company is entering a competitive market, where Jumia and Konga are already established players in the Nigerian e-commerce space. However, Eden Life believes that it can differentiate itself by offering a wider range of products and services, as well as a more personalised shopping experience.

Having learned from its past mistakes, when its online platform collapsed under the weight of a flash promotion for its quick-service restaurant, Eden Life is now focusing on building a strong logistics network to ensure that orders are delivered quickly and efficiently.

The company has joined hands with multiple delivery partners to fulfill orders on the new e-commerce platform. It is also building a database of riders and delivery services.

In addition to the marketplace, Eden Life is offering a variety of features for vendors and customers. Vendors have access to a dashboard where they can generate discount vouchers, see where customers are ordering from, and get feedback. Customers can enjoy safe payments, real-time order tracking, and other services from Eden.

The launch of Eden Life’s e-commerce marketplace is a significant development in the Nigerian retail sector as the company’s focus on affordability, convenience, and personalisation could make it a major player in the market.

The marketplace is currently only available in Nigeria, but the company plans to expand to other African countries in the future. Eden Life is targeting a wide range of customers, from individuals to businesses and believes that its marketplace can be a one-stop shop for all of their shopping needs.

On partnerships, Eden Life has partnered with a pharmacy to offer prescription drug delivery. The launch of the e-commerce marketplace is a major investment for Eden Life which has raised over $100 million in funding to support its growth.
