Meta has launched Meta Quest+, a subscription-based service for its virtual reality (VR) headsets that will give subscribers access to two new games monthly, to shape a nascent but high-investment market.

Meta (formerly the Facebook company) builds technologies that help people connect, find communities and grow businesses

In a broadcast on Monday evening, Mark Zukerberg, Meta CEO said the service is currently available at $7.99 per month (approximately N6,200), or $59.99 annually, for its Quest 2, Quest pro and soon for Quest 3.

The first two games, Action-rhythm game FPS pistol whip and the Arcade adventure game pixel ripped 1995 will be rolled out in July. On the other hand, players will get to experience the games Walkabout Mini Golf and Mothergunship: Forge, in August.

Users who sign up between June 26th and July 31st will benefit from Meta’s opening discount rates that allow early subscribers to pay only $1 for the first month.

Meta’s subscription services will set the company apart from PlayStation, which notably doesn’t offer VR through its PlayStation Plus subscription.

“Subscription services have been a great way to get more bang for your buck as far back as the blockbuster days”.

“And at a monthly value of up to $60 USD, Meta Quest+ combines affordability with the convenience of a curated experience,” the company wrote in its announcement while showing excitement on its new invention to give gamers on Meta Quest a new way to explore all their headsets have to offer.
