Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu (Dr.) has been elected the fifteenth (15th) President of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Techeconoomy can report.
Information reaching Techeconomy indicates that Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu was elected, unopposed. He is the first candidate from the Northern part of the country to be elected as President of the 45-year-ol body.
The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is the umbrella organization of all Information Technology Professionals, Interest Groups and Stakeholders in Nigeria.
Formed in 1978 as Computer Association of Nigeria (COAN); and Transformed into NCS in 2002 as a result of harmonization with other stakeholder and interest groups.
NCS is the national platform for the advancement of Information Technology Science and Practice in Nigeria.
Until his election, Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu was the deputy to the immediate past president, Prof. Adesina Sodiya.
Also, Dr. Charles Onyeukwu, has been elected the Deputy President of NCS. He is the immediate past Chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of NCS.
The elections were part activities during Nigeria Computer Society International conference tagged: “Communications and e-Systems for Economic Stability (CeSES 2023)”, which held at the Event Place, Murtala Mohammed Way, Federal Low Cost Bypass, Bauchi on Tuesday August 8 to Thursday, August 10, 2023.
