Digital technology experts, enthusiasts, policy makers and other stakeholders across Africa are gearing up for the maiden INCATA Cybersecurity in AI Summit.

Organizers are targeting 1,000 participants in the summit, to be held in Lagos on February 1st 2025, with the theme; Data Security in the Age of AI.

Interested participants in the free event can register here.

The International Network for Cybersecurity and Advanced Technology in Africa (INCATA) is a collaborative platform for technology professionals and enthusiasts around the world to facilitate and advocate cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and technological advancements across Africa.

The organization’s activities include tech consultancy, advocacy for advancements in AI and cybersecurity, and nurturing a community of experts and enthusiasts in digital technology.

“We live in an age of rapid advancements and innovations driven by digital technologies and AI has emerged as one of the most advanced technologies that will determine the future. However, without the protection of data and privacy, the positive impact of AI will not be felt. This is why cybersecurity is now more important than ever,” said Victor Audu, a keynote speaker at the event.

INCATA has a vision to help create a society in Africa where individuals are inspired to learn and contribute to technological advancement while recognizing the critical importance of data protection.

The organization also aims to train and prepare aspiring professionals for emerging opportunities, positioning Africa as a hub of innovation and security that attracts both local and international interests.

The Cybersecurity in AI Summit is the organization’s first event.

According to Project Manager, Ayodele Arowosegbe, the free-to-attend summit will be a hybrid event with some participants physically present and others joining from across the world.

“The summit will explore the growing intersection between AI technologies and cybersecurity measures in safeguarding data and shaping the future of technology in Africa and beyond”, said Arowosegbe, “we have an array of speakers and panelists with insights that would provide invaluable guidance and inspiration to our audience, which includes professionals, aspiring technologists, and enthusiasts.”

Expected speakers include Lanre Adelanwa, CEO of Optimum AI Labs; Victor Audu, CEO, Hagion Limited; Sylvia Ezennaya, CEO, Rubis Services Limited; Danjuma Audu, President, Digital Transformation at Reliance Infosystems; Moses Faya, Founder, Tech Policy Advisory; and Letsui Nkenfack, Information Security Manager at Union Bank of Cameroon. Others include Olawale Sobogungod, CEO, Gigabytes Limited, Finland; Erasmus Ogbonna, Cybersecurity Engineer at GMS Consult; Basil Agbor, Head of Products and Innovation at Falcon Aero; and Michael Osumo, Program Manager for Instig Labs.
