MTN Nigeria has announced the third in the series of the mPulse Spelling Bee Competitions.
The first two rounds will be held on the mPulse website, while the grand finale will take place in Lagos on November 19, 2022.
The competition, which aims to encourage literacy, improve comprehension, and broaden children’s vocabulary, will be carried out in a hybrid format, according to the organizers’ statement.
According to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), MTN Nigeria, Adia Sowho, mPulse Spelling Bee is intended to assist kids to broaden their vocabulary, participate in healthy competition, and provide pertinent resources to maximize their potential.
The objective is that this edition will keep our children competitive, goal-oriented, and tenacious in overcoming problems.
“We are committed to creating more enabling platforms for youth education and empowerment in our communities.”
The best 20 spellers in this year’s competition will get over N8 million in cash awards, laptops, smartphones, and other goodies for both the students and their teachers.
The winning school in the spelling bee will receive cutting-edge ICT equipment as well as the chance to spend a day in the shoes of the CEO of MTN.
Students between the ages of nine and fifteen are eligible to compete. Students who are subscribed to the mPulse plan may register to participate via the mPulse Website.
There are 3 stages of the competition
- The first stage will be done on the MTN mPulse website and is open to all students between 9 and 15 years.
- The top 1000 from the first round will be invited via mail for the second round of the competition which will take place on the mPulse website.
- The first 20 students with the highest scores from the second round will qualify for the third stage (Grand Finale). The invitation will be sent via mail
- Grand finale of the competition which will be held physically
RULES
- The spelling Bee portal opens for the Practice tests from 9 am on 8th August 2022 to 11:59 pm on 21st August 2022.
- Round 1 Competition runs from 12noon on 22nd August 2022 to 11:59 pm on 9th October 2022
- The Competition is open to only boys and girls in Primary and Secondary schools in Nigeria who are between 9 and 15 years old as of 22nd August 2022.
- Participants must be residents of Nigeria
- Participants’ phone numbers used for the registration must be on the mPulse tariff plan. Dial *344# to migrate your line to the mPulse tariff plan.
- Participants must have successfully updated their profile on the mPulse website.
- Participants must have successfully linked with their parents on the mPulse website.
- The practice test can be done multiple times but each Quiz round can be taken ONLY ONCE.
