Nine Tech Kids Emerge Winner in the 2023 ‘Digital Dreams Kids Coding Challenge’

Digital Dreams Kids coding challenge

On Saturday, 2nd September 2023, the first edition of Kids Coding Challenge took place at Digital Dreams Hub, Enugu State.

After a rigorous pre-selection exercise on the 30th of August 2023, Out 145 Kids who registered, 87 Kids participated in the challenge with 40 kids in Web design category, 30 kids in Scratch programming and 17 kids in Graphics Design.

Kids Coding Challenge is an interactive and fun-filled tech event designed to test kids on problem-solving, critical thinking skills and ICT skills. The challenge engaged three different categories of ICT skills, namely; Graphics design, Web design and Scratch programming

A 13 years old male web designer Obikwelu Ebenezer of Citadel of Excellence college, emerged winner in the web design category, while Isiadinso Grace, a 13years old female graphics designer of Roseville Secondary School, won in the graphics design category and Acho Kelechi, 13years old male programmer of Seat of Wisdom secondary school, took the lead in the Scratch programming category, they all went home with a brand new Amazon Tablets.

Other winners are Nwekwo Kosisochukwu, 13years old of Spring of life International school, Udoh Cleopatra, 15years old of spring of Life International School, for web Design category second and third position respectively.

Chukwuemeka Onaga, 15years old of Federal Government College, Alukowo Chimamanda, 14years old of British Spring College for Graphics design category second and third position respectively. Ikemsinachukwu Nzekwe, 9years of Silverbrook International School, Ozoeze Chiamaka, 13years old of Miketery College for Scratch programming category second and third position respectively.

Mrs. Lovina Gudu, one of the parent of the kids, who witness the challenge, commended the organizers for putting up such an Educative and Engaging program for kids. She said “ kids coding challenge has impacted my kids positively and I look further for the next edition…”

Closing remarks was taken by Mr. Chukwudi Edeoga, the CEO of Digital Dreams Ltd.

According to him, Kids Coding Challenge has come to stay, and the next year’s edition will be bigger in all sense, also he announced the launching of Saturday online coding club for kids, that it’s open for the public.
