The Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN), has entered a strategic partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and other partners to host the Digital Asset Summit for 2023.

The two-day summit which is expected to run between September 6th and 7th, 2023, will hold at the prestigious NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, Nigeria.

Making the announcement at a press conference organized by SiBAN in Lagos recently, Obinna Iwuno, President of SiBAN revealed that event promises to be groundbreaking, uniting industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and enthusiasts from around the world.

Iwuno who is also the Founder, Crypto Bootcamp Community added, “The Digital Asset Summit ’23 represents a significant milestone for the blockchain industry in Africa. It’s a testament to Nigeria’s and Africas growing influence in the global blockchain landscape.”

“The Digital Asset Summit ’23 transcends the traditional conference experience. This is a platform offering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation. Attendees can expect captivating presentations, interactive sessions, and insightful discussions led by global experts,” he said.

Speaking on the summit which has garnered significant support from key partners and sponsors who are actively shaping the blockchain ecosystem in Africa, Franklin Peters, Vice President, Projects, Funding & Strategic Partnerships, for SiBAN and Founder, BoundlessPay explains that the partnership is in line with the association’s spirit of collaboration and growth.

“We understand that collaborations work best in this ecosystem and that is why we have entered into strategic partnerships with partners like both prominent government agencies dedicated to fostering information and communications technology development in Nigeria.

Also throwing its support behind the conference is the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), ZEBEC, a Multi-Chain Continuous Settlement Protocol working towards the future of blockchain payment, and COINEX, a renowned cryptocurrency exchange platform offering secure and user-friendly services to traders and investors.

Under the theme “Shaping the Future of Blockchain in Africa,” Emeka Ezike, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the conference and Vice President, Media & Publicity, for SiBAN, emphasized the event’s importance: “Digital Asset Summit ’23 underscores SiBAN’s commitment to nurturing the growth and impact of the blockchain industry in Nigeria.”

Ezike, who also serves as the Community Lead at EMURGO Africa, added that by connecting key players and stakeholders, SiBAN aims to raise awareness, foster connections, and accelerate the adoption of digital assets throughout the nation.

He highlighted that a key event during the summit will be the stakeholders’ roundtable, where prominent figures will convene to discuss and shape the future of blockchain in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

“We have organized this event strategically to champion the interests of participants in this rapidly evolving space. Holding this event in Abuja is pivotal for us because it serves as a central location for all our members across the country and is in proximity to the seat of political power in Nigeria,” he added.

Iwuno also added that the forthcoming conference has enjoyed some level of sponsorships. Expressing his appreciation to the supporting the event, he revealed that they include vent.africa, an automated crypto trading platform facilitating seamless crypto-to-cash transactions, Convexity, a blockchain solutions and consultancy agency specializing in innovative applications, and Tresura by ShutterScore, an all-in-one product suite for global financial services.

Others include NODO, an initiative addressing the blockchain information gap, Obiex, a platform for cryptocurrency trading at competitive rates with zero fees, Astarter DeFi Hub, the DeFi infrastructure hub on Cardano backed by EMURGO, and BitBarter, empowering Africans to trade, send, and receive crypto and fiat globally.

“I will like to encourage every stakeholder in this space not to miss the opportunity to be part of the future at the Digital Asset Summit ’23. Our registration portals are still open and attendees can access it to secure their spot at this monumental event that promises to shape the trajectory of blockchain technology in Africa,” he concluded.

The Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the adoption and use of blockchain technology in Nigeria.

“SiBAN is committed to creating a conducive environment for blockchain innovation and education, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and advocating blockchain-friendly policies”, the release reads.
