This is as the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), said that it has been notified of the incident and has deployed its investigators to site.

The aircraft with the registration number: 5N BKI, it was learnt departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja for Lagos.

The aircraft involved in the incident has also been grounded by the airline for further investigation.

A statement by Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, the Spokesman of the airline, confirmed the incident.

According to Independent.ng report the incident may have occurred due to the wet surface of the runway at the Lagos airport.

It has been raining since early morning of Tuesday in Lagos, Ogun and some other parts of the country.

It was gathered that as at the time of the incident, it was drizzling at the airport.

Ezenwa in the statement, regretted the incident, but expressed that all the 83 passengers and crewmembers onboard the flight disembarked safely without injuries or scare.

He commended the crew for handling the incident with utmost professionalism.

The statement hinted that the NSIB and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have been notified of the incident.

He said:

“We have also updated the NSIB and NCAA on the incident and the aircraft involved has been grounded by our maintenance team for further investigation.

“We wish to thank the airport authorities, our crew for their very swift response in ensuring the safe disembarkation of all passengers following the incident and our sincere apologies and appreciation to the passengers on the affected flight for their patience and understanding.”

The statement reassured passengers of the airline’s commitment to safety, stressing that Dana Air was cooperating fully with the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Also, Mrs. Bimbo Oladeji, the director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Department, NSIB, confirmed the Dana Air incident.

Oladeji explained that the bureau had been notified of the incident, while it has also deployed its investigators to the site for first-hand-information on the incident.

Uganda Airlines which is the flag carrier of the Republic of Uganda would be flying from Entebbe International Airport in Uganda thrice a week to Lagos, Nigeria.

The airline that is rated at the top of the list of the youngest fleets of the world airlines is also known as the Uganda National Airlines Company.

Mr. Patrick Ziwa, the Ugandan Country Manager said concerning the partnership between SAHCO and Uganda Airlines that they are happy and blessed to be in Nigeria starting from the 19th of October, 2023. He went on to say that Uganda Airlines is excited about working with SAHCO, partnering with SAHCO and also supporting SAHCO during this novel journey.
