In addition to Olorunnimbe’s confirmation, the Senate approved several other key appointments to the NCC Board.

These include Maryam Bayi (North East), Senator Ramoni Olalekan Mustafa (South West), Ikechukwu Ugwuegede (South East), Princess Oforitsenere Emiko (South South) and Christopher Sandy Okorie (South South).

These new board members join existing executives, including Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Aminu Maida (North West), Executive Commissioner (Technical Services) Engineer Abraham Oshadami (North Central) and Executive Commissioner (Stakeholder Management) Rimini H. Makama (North Central).

According to the Senate Committee on Communications, all nominees were deemed competent and qualified after rigorous vetting.

The appointments are part of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s broader effort to strengthen digital governance, widen access to communications services, and promote fair competition across Nigeria’s fast-growing digital economy.

The newly confirmed NCC Board will now work alongside the Commission’s management to deliver on key mandates, including improved broadband access, regulatory oversight of telecoms operators and safeguarding consumer rights.
